I am an alumnus of NDA, Khadakwasla and IMA, Dehradun. As an artillery officer with 26 years of experience and an ‘Instructor in gunnery’, I have extensive command, operations, and strategic planning experience. I have an M Sc (Tech) in Weapons Technology and a Ph. D. in Defence and Strategic Studies (Weaponisation of Space & its Implications for India). I am attending ‘Advanced Certification in Space Technology’ from Indian Institute of Science, and a ‘Certificate Course in Business Management (HR & Finance)’ from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. Having commanded a Surveillance Unit and an Artillery Unit, I have immense experience in leadership, planning, operations, HR aspects and logistics. Besides qualifying in instructional courses, I have hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of military radars, and electro-optical surveillance systems operating in a networked environment, and also have similar experience with modern artillery gun systems. I also have extensive experience in communications, vigilance, government contract management, RFP formulation & CSR Projects In academia, my contributions include conducting qualitative research on Chinese space-based surveillance and missile capabilities, curating specialized courses, such as a nationally recognized Tibetology program for military personnel, publishing highly acclaimed, globally cited essays on space security in peer-reviewed journals, thereby showcasing a commitment to advancing knowledge in defence studies and space security and developing curricula and educational strategies that address contemporary security challenges and foster cross-disciplinary collaboration. I am transitioning from the military, aiming to leverage my military experience and a doctorate in Defence & Strategic Studies to advance research and education in defence, weapons and space technology, and space security. I aim to contribute to academic institutions and think tanks by shaping educational programs that address contemporary challenges in defence and space while advancing knowledge and innovation, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and enhancing understanding of space andstrategic affairs. I am keen to exploit my experience and skills to contribute to Defence & Space manufacturing industry in shaping appropriate strategies for defence and space technologies and markets, formulating evidence-informed space policy in global environments and navigating evolving geopolitical & risk environments.
